THE SHORT ANSWER
The best IPTV player is the one that runs on your exact device, accepts your supplied account format and provides the guide and controls you need at a clear price. For a Windows PC, start with the documented Smarters IPTV route below. For Android TV, investigate TiviMate; for Apple devices, compare IPTVX and VLC for your particular task. These are suitability choices, not a universal speed ranking. A player licence does not include an Apollo viewing subscription.
A shortlist by device and task.
Choose the app before paying for its activation. Similar names can belong to different developers, and a free download can still require a purchase. The comparison below separates publisher documentation from the Windows experience supplied by Apollo’s owner.
| Exact player | Useful starting point | Input and cost checks | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smarters IPTV · SmartersPlayer LLC | Windows users who want the documented Apollo setup route. | M3U and XC routes are documented in our Windows guide. App activation is separate; check the exact store/edition price. | Owner-reported Windows 1.3.4.0 session, October 22; publisher and store identity. |
| TiviMate · tivimate.com | Android TV users choosing a television-oriented player. | Confirm your source format and which required features need a paid licence in the current edition. | Publisher documentation; no Apollo Android TV test claimed here. |
| IPTVX · Bending X - FZE | Apple users comparing a dedicated playlist library on iPad, iPhone or Apple TV. | The App Store lists M3U/M3U8 and Xtream API support. Free download with in-app purchases; content is separate. | Current US App Store listing; no hands-on Apple test claimed. |
| VLC media player · VideoLAN | Apple-device users who want a free network-media player to investigate for a simple playback task. | Check the particular stream format. Do not assume a complete TV-guide/library workflow from network playback alone. | Current US App Store listing; not an Apollo playlist certification. |
SmartersPlayer LLC’s website, TiviMate’s publisher, the IPTVX listing and the VLC listing are the identity checks behind this shortlist. Store availability and current operating-system requirements matter more than a familiar icon.
What our Windows evidence actually shows.
On October 22, 2026, Apollo’s owner supplied Windows screenshots for IBO Player Pro, Smarters IPTV by SmartersPlayer LLC and TvMate IPTV Pro. The owner reported live TV, movies and series playing with sound, with no buffering or lag noticed during those sessions. The separately supplied XC account route was also reported to work.
This gives you a concrete Windows starting point. It does not establish comparative loading times, a long-term uptime figure or results on a different device or connection. Smarters IPTV was version 1.3.4.0; TvMate IPTV Pro was 1.0.9.0. The IBO version was not supplied.
Follow the Smarters IPTV Windows walkthrough for the exact publisher, real sanitized captures and field-by-field preparation. The IBO Player Pro guide covers its separate workflow. Windows TvMate IPTV Pro is not the Android TV product TiviMate. Do not buy one licence expecting the other product.
Compare the features you will actually use.
A guide is a separate check from playback. Ask whether your account supplies EPG data and whether the chosen app accepts that guide source. A playing channel does not establish that programme names, time zones or catch-up are correct. Use the EPG troubleshooting guide if the picture works but the schedule is empty.
For a living-room TV, check remote navigation, readable programme text and favourites. For a tablet, check touch controls and the current OS requirement. If recording, catch-up or multiple views matter, confirm both the app’s licence entitlement and your viewing account’s restrictions. A visible button does not prove the source supports the feature.
TiviMate’s publisher describes an Android TV experience, including television features such as favourites and programme searching. It says the app is not optimized for phones or tablets. That makes it a different selection from an iPad player; our iPad guide explains that device’s preparation steps.

An M3U link can contain credentials. Keep it private and paste it only into the intended player or its verified management page. Do not put it in public comments, an online converter or a support screenshot. For the format distinction, read what an IPTV playlist contains.
The player and your viewing plan are different purchases.
A player provides the interface. Apollo provides the separately purchased viewing account and activation instructions. An app’s trial period or lifetime licence does not extend an Apollo subscription. Apple and other platform purchases may also have different entitlements; check before paying twice.
Apollo’s current one-screen, one-month plan is $14.99 USD; two simultaneous screens for one month are $21.99 USD. These are full plan totals, paid once with no automatic renewal. Any separately charged player licence is additional. Installing several apps does not increase the number of simultaneous screens in your plan.
Choose your Apollo screens and term, then request payment instructions. A submitted request is not a completed payment or an activated account. Review the supplied payment method and activation steps before paying. If you also need a TV device, use the hardware buying comparison before spending on a new box.
QUICK ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
Is the best IPTV player always a paid app?
No. Fit depends on your device, source format and required controls. A free player may suit a simple task, while a paid edition may provide features you need. Check the exact edition rather than assuming price proves playback quality.
Does downloading a player include channels?
No viewing subscription is included merely by downloading the players discussed here. You supply a suitable viewing source separately.
Can changing apps fix buffering?
It can help when the problem is app-specific, but buffering can also involve the source, network, device or stream format. Compare the same item under similar conditions before drawing a conclusion.
Can I use one account in several players?
Follow your account’s terms and simultaneous-screen limit. Installing an additional player does not buy another simultaneous connection.
Setting up IPTVX specifically?
The IPTVX connection guide separates the player licence from provider access and explains M3U, Xtream and guide-source checks.

Choosing TiviMate? See how its PC account purchase route works. If you intend to watch on a PC, first distinguish Android TiviMate from the Windows player.
- SmartersPlayer LLC: identity and official platform links; exact Windows Store product.
- TiviMate publisher: Android TV focus and player-only model.
- US App Store: IPTVX, Bending X - FZE.
- US App Store: VLC, VideoLAN.
